
CHAPTER VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION
OUR

To stop impaired driving
and to support victims of this violent crime.
ROLE PROFILE
·
As the School Outreach Volunteer, you are a leader
for a dynamic grassroots MADD Canada Chapter within your community. You will work collaboratively with fellow
board members; community partners and the national staff to support our mission.
·
1-2 year term, 5-8+ hours / month.
PREREQUISITE
·
Be an active Chapter member.
RESPONSIBILITIES: KEY TASKS / ACTIVITIES
·
Educate
community members / groups about the dangers of impaired driving; provide tips
and talk about MADD Canada’s prevention and education programs (i.e., Project Red Ribbon campaign, multi-media shows, R.I.D.E / Sobriety
Checkpoints, etc…).
·
Work closely with National’s School Outreach Program
Co-ordinator to book multi-media shows in your community (i.e., ACE & MIND
CONTROL).
·
Promote MADD
Canada’s national bursary program and poster / essay / multi-media contests
within your community.
·
Work collaboratively with fellow board members; your
community; community partners (i.e., police, fire, emergency medical services,
media, schools, health department, local merchants, companies, etc…) and the
national office.
·
Co-ordinate school presentations.
·
Utilize resources provided by the national office to
educate and raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving. Consider an assortment of resources:
brochures, promotional items, flyers, booklets, fatal vision goggles, and
websites etc…
·
Be knowledgeable about MADD Canada’s policies,
programs and services.
·
Attend annual general and / or general meetings.
·
Assist committee chairs and members as necessary.
·
Act as a spokesperson & community liaison for the
Chapter (as necessary).
·
Promote the Chapter positively within your community
and lead by example.
·
Actively seek opportunities to partner and build
strategic alliances / partnerships.
·
Share your skills and expertise as a leader.
·
Meet new people and learn new skills.

Gain new insights and experiences.

Explore or confirm new career opportunities.

You have prior experience serving on a board of directors
(preferred, but not required).

You will be
supported and trained by fellow board members and / or the Chapter
Administrative Assistant.
