Synopsis

1.

Break and Enter–10-16159- The Halton Regional Police Service is investigating a break and enter at a local residence in Georgetown.

 

Sometime between January 31st and February 2nd, unknown suspect(s) kicked open the rear door of a home located at 63 Samuel Drive. Once inside, the suspects went the house and removed a 52”Toshiba flat panel LCD TV, and a silver and black IPod. The residents were not home at the time of the break-in. Total loss is unknown at this time.

Vandalism –10-16751- Halton Regional Police is investigating a racially motivated act of vandalism to a residence in Oakville. 

 

Sometime overnight on February 2nd, unknown culprit(s) attended a residence located on Frontier Drive and used a black marker to write several derogatory words in large letters on the garage door. 

 

Investigation by the Police determined that the culprit(s) wrote the derogatory words on the wrong residence.  It became evident that the message was intended for a neighbour as the name of the intended victim written on the garage.

 

There have been no similar recent incidents of this type of malicious vandalism in this area. The reason for this crime has not been ascertained at this time.

 

The Halton Regional Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the culprits responsible for this hate motivated vandalism.

3.

Break and Enter– 10-008618, 10-011301– Halton Regional Police is investigating two breaks and enters to a local business in Burlington.

 

On January 19th, shortly after 2:30 a.m., four unknown suspects broke into the Sport Chek sporting goods store in Burlington Mall located at 777 Guelph Line. Video surveillance shows the suspects in the store taking numerous clothing items.  The suspects exited the store through the north parking lot to a waiting motor vehicle.  There was no sign of forced entry. 

 

Several days later on January 24th, a second break and enter occurred at Sport Chek sporting goods store in Burlington Mall. Video surveillance captured two unknown suspects in the store taking numerous clothing items.  Once again, the suspects exited the store through the north doors to a waiting motor vehicle.  Again, there was no sign of forced entry. Police believes the two incidents may be connected due to the timeframe and items taken.

 

Suspect 1:  Male / White, 18-25 years of age, 183 cm, short light brown hair with a balding spot on the back of the head, wearing a black zipped up sweater.

Suspect 2:  Male / White, 18-25 years of age, 175 cm, short dark hair, wearing a grey and black baseball cap, black waist length winter coat with a hood that has fur around the hood, baggy blue jeans, running shoes.

Suspect 3: Unknown Gender, unknown age, 170 cm, black jacket, blue jeans, sweatshirt hood over head, face covered.

 

Total loss is estimated to be $5,000.00.

Robbery – 10-010859– The Halton Regional Police Service is investigating a robbery in Milton.

 

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on January 23rd, a teenager was walking home from a friend’s place when he was confronted by three unknown suspects in front of Rogers Plus located at 459 Main Street East. One of the suspects demanded the victim’s belongings, and the teenager complied. Stolen items include a Blackberry cellular telephone, IPOD Nano and a banking card. The suspects were last seen running southeast,  into the parking lot of Milton Mall located at 75 Nipissing Road heading towards the Winners and Shopper’s Drug Mart.

All three suspects were described as males, white, 5’10 to 6’ tall, 20 to 25 years of age. They were wearing dark coloured clothing with the hoods up and their faces were concealed with scarves.
