FRAUD ALERT 

This is a special notice to all of our members and visitors to the Ontario Garden Show at Royal Botanical Gardens. It has come to our attention that the RBG name is being used in connection with a prize promotion related to Ontario Garden Show. Visitors to the show are being contacted by telephone and told that they have won a trip for two as part of a promotion conducted in partnership with Royal Botanical Gardens and the Ontario Garden Show. They are then asked to provide their credit card numbers in order to have the prize released.

Royal Botanical Gardens is in no way affiliated with this promotion, nor with the organization conducting it. We strongly advise our members and visitors to the Ontario Garden Show not to provide credit card information to anyone making such a claim. We urge anyone who is contacted regarding this prize promotion to contact the Ontario Provincial Police Phone Busters hotline at 1-888-495-8501 or by email at www.phonebusters.ca.

Names and contact information were collected at unauthorized ballot booths located outside the front entrance of RBG Centre. The ballot booths had signs advertising that participants could win a free cruise for two or a $500 Home Depot gift card. If you filled out one of these ballots, you are very likely to be contacted. 

We apologize to any of our members and visitors who have been approached by this company and reiterate that Royal Botanical Gardens would never, under any circumstances be involved in any promotion that would require our members or visitors to provide their credit card information over the telephone in order to win a prize. Royal Botanical Gardens respects the privacy rights of or visitors and members and never provides personal contact information to other organizations without the express consent of the individual.
