
CHAPTER VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION

and to support victims of this violent crime.
ROLE PROFILE
·
As Director - Fundraising, you are the fundraising leader
for a dynamic grassroots MADD Canada Chapter within your community. You will work collaboratively with fellow
board members; community leaders and the national office to support our mission.
·
1-2 year term, 5-10+ hours / month.
PREREQUISITE
·
Be an active Chapter member.
RESPONSIBILITIES: KEY TASKS / ACTIVITIES
·
Chair and prepare agendas and minutes for the
fundraising committee (if applicable).
·
Attend monthly board / Chapter meetings.
·
Attend annual general and / or general meetings.
·
Contribute to a Chapter newsletter (if applicable).
·
Champion the Project
Red Ribbon campaign; the Strides for
Change Walk (if applicable).
·
Lead fundraising projects / campaigns / initiatives
as agreed upon by the Chapter board of directors.
·
Assist Director - Volunteer Resources with volunteer
recruitment, interviewing, orientation, training and recognition (as it relates
to the fundraising portfolio).
·
Work collaboratively with fellow board members; your
community; community partners (i.e., police, fire, emergency medical services,
media, schools, health department, local merchants, companies, etc…) and the
national office.
·
Maintain regular contact / communication with fellow
board members; committee chairs; volunteers; members and the national office.
·
Be knowledgeable about MADD Canada’s policies,
programs and services.
·
Promote the Chapter positively within the community.
·
Act as a spokesperson & community liaison for the
Chapter (as required).
·
Actively seek fundraising opportunities within the community.
·
Meet and network with community groups, schools, businesses,
clubs, etc… on a regular basis.
·
Actively seek opportunities to partner and build
strategic alliances / partnerships within your local community.
·
Lead by example.
·
Share your skills and expertise as a leader.
·
Meet new people.
·
Gain new insights and experiences.
·
Explore or confirm new career opportunities.
·
Learn about fundraising.
·
Learn about volunteerism and the field of volunteer management.
·
You possess strong leadership, communication and networking
skills.

·
You have prior experience organizing fundraisers
(preferred, but not required).
·
You have prior experience co-ordinating and managing
volunteers (preferred, but not required).
·
A certificate or diploma in fundraising (preferred,
but not required).
·
You have prior experience serving on a board of directors
(preferred, but not required).
·
You will receive an Orientation Guide and might be
asked to attend an Orientation Session (from / by your local Chapter).
·
You will be supported
and trained by fellow board members and / or the Chapter Administrative
Assistant.
